Note: The parameters shown in the following drawings are manually measured dimensions and are for reference only. Please refer to the actual product.

The 2-section Telescopic Conveyor mainly solves the manual handling and short-distance conveying problems from the warehouse loading/unloading opening to the inside of the truck bed. It is suitable for cartons, bagged goods, roll-wound items, metal drums, plastic drums, and other items with relatively stable shapes and a single-unit weight of no more than 50 kg, for use in warehouses, small distribution centers, and loading/unloading points that require high site flexibility. Before purchasing, first check four boundaries: whether the truck length is 6 meters or less, how far the unit needs to extend into the truck, whether there is enough space after retraction and extension on site, and whether the front and rear sections are manually connected or need to be connected with Telescopic Conveyor the conveyor equipment at both ends. If effective width, the length extending into the truck, or front-end height coordination is involved, this parameter must be confirmed according to the final model or project.

Applicable sites and cargo boundaries

The key point of the 2-section structure is that the machine body is relatively shorter, and the extension distance is concentrated within a short range. It is suitable for sites where the distance from the loading/unloading opening to the truck bed is not very long, but the equipment still needs to extend into the truck to reduce handling distance. The existing models cover a base length of 3-7 meters, an extended length of 2-6 meters, and a fully extended length of 5-13 meters.

The applicable boundaries can be understood as follows:

  • Vehicles: mainly used for trucks with a length of 6 meters or less; if multiple vehicle types are used on site, the most common truck length and the least favorable parking position should be confirmed together.
  • Extending into the truck: typically 2-4 meters; the extension length of some models can be longer, but "length extending into the cargo bed" and "extension length" do not mean exactly the same thing. This parameter must be confirmed according to the final model or project.
  • Cargo: cartons, bagged goods, roll-wound items, metal drums, plastic drums, with a single-unit weight of no more than 50 kg.
  • Site: suitable for warehouse entrances, dock openings, sorting and shipping outlets, and other points that require frequent retraction and extension.
  • Personnel coordination: suitable for loading and unloading with personnel on both the truck and the ground; if the entire section must be connected by fixed conveying lines, the heights and cycle time of the front and rear sections must also be checked.

The table below can be used for an initial assessment:

Site conditions Assessment Recommended action
Vehicles are mainly trucks with a length of 6 meters or less Within the common range for this model group Continue to check the length needed to extend into the truck
Only a short extension into the truck is needed Suitable for the 2-section structure Focus on confirming the base length and extended length
The cargo consists of cartons, bagged goods, roll-wound items, or drums, with a single-unit weight of no more than 50 kg Within the normal applicable range Confirm again whether the bottom surface is suitable for belt conveying
The site wants the equipment to take up less space after retraction The 2-section structure is usually easier to arrange Confirm based on the retracted position and aisle width
The vehicle is longer and requires a deeper extension into the truck The boundary of the 2-section model may be insufficient See longer models in the same series, such as 3-section Telescopic Conveyor, 4-section Telescopic Conveyor, 5-Section Telescopic Conveyor

How to Read Key Parameters

For this type of equipment, you do not need to look at every dimension at once. First check the few parameters that directly affect layout and use.

Parameter Impact on Model Selection How to Verify On Site
Base Length A: 3-7 m Determines the footprint in the retracted state and the layout outside the loading and unloading opening Measure the distance from the doorway to the aisle, wall, column, or other equipment
Fully Extended Length C: 5-13 m Determines whether, when extended, it can cover the distance from the warehouse opening to the inside of the truck bed Measure from the loading and unloading opening to the target drop-off point in the truck bed based on the vehicle parking position
Extension Length B: 2-6 m Determines how far the front end can advance into the vehicle Confirm the loading and unloading depth that needs to be covered inside the truck bed
Effective Width: 600/800 mm Determines the cargo passage width and placement method Confirm based on the dimensions of common cargo shapes; drums and large boxes require side clearance
Conveyor Speed: 10-40 m/min Affects the pace of manual cargo handling and the coordination between the front and rear sections Confirm whether loading/unloading is done manually or connected to other conveyor equipment
Load Capacity: 60 Affects the single-item weight and the unit-area load limit The single-item weight, stacking method, and number of items loaded at the same time must all be confirmed together

There are two points that need special clarification:

  • "Load Capacity 60" and "rated load <= 60 kg/m²" are different expressions. On site, when concentrated loading is involved, or when drums have a smaller contact area, or multiple items are stacked under pressure at the same time, the load limit should be confirmed according to the final model or project requirements.
  • The internal materials mention both 10-40 m/min and 24-36 m/min stepless speed control. The actual usable speed range should be confirmed according to the final model or project requirements.

How the Front and Rear Sections Connect

A 2-Section Telescopic Conveyor is usually arranged at the loading and unloading opening, with the front section connected to incoming goods inside the warehouse and the rear section extending into the truck bed. If the front end is not manual handling but an existing conveyor line, confirm the following points during connection:

  • Infeed direction: whether the cargo enters in a single file or in multiple parallel lines determines whether the front end needs timing adjustment.
  • Height relationship: whether there is a noticeable height difference between the warehouse floor, the platform, and the truck bed floor; if there is, you can first confirm optional equipment such as hydraulic lifting or a ramp section.
  • End receiving method: whether goods are manually stacked inside the vehicle, or whether an in-truck conveyor section is also needed; different methods have different requirements for insertion depth and operating platform.
  • Cargo bottom surface: for bagged, rolled, and drum goods, it is especially important to confirm whether the transition at the transfer point is smooth to avoid stoppage or deviation at the joint.
  • Reverse conveying: the fixed function includes forward and reverse rotation. If the site needs to switch between loading and unloading, the operating method and control position should be specified in advance.

If a roller conveyor section has already been installed in front of the loading and unloading opening, the key is not the equipment name alone, but whether the incoming cargo height, timing, and transfer position are consistent. To see similar layouts, refer to Telescopic Conveyor Direct-Connect Warehouse Conveyor Line Loading and Unloading Solution.

How to Choose Among Models in the Same Series

This model group is suitable for sites where the conveyor only needs to extend a short distance into the truck bed and the retracted space is relatively controlled. If the on-site boundaries exceed the common range of this group, choose a longer model in the same series based on truck length, extension depth, and required deployment space.

  • For trucks up to 6 m and mainly short-distance extension into the truck bed: first confirm the base length and extended length among the 2-Section Telescopic Conveyor models.
  • If the loading and unloading point is farther from the vehicle, or if you want deeper access into the trailer: see 3-Section Telescopic Conveyor or 4-Section Telescopic Conveyor.
  • If the vehicle is longer and the coverage requirement inside the trailer is higher: see 5-Section Telescopic Conveyor.
  • If the main challenge on site is not the length needed to extend into the trailer, but a significant height difference between the warehouse floor and the trailer, you can separately confirm Hydraulic Conveyor and how it should be divided in responsibility with this equipment.

When choosing within the same series, first look at 3 things: vehicle length, the depth required to extend into the trailer, and the footprint allowed after retraction. If the load exceeds the rated capacity or the cargo form is special, engineering confirmation, a separate solution, or a recheck of the load capacity and conveying method is required.

On-site layout and operation maintenance

Daily use of the 2-Section Telescopic Conveyor is focused not on complex functions, but on whether the loading and unloading point has enough space for retraction and extension, and whether operators can easily observe the front end position.

Fixed functions include: start/stop, forward/reverse, emergency stop, extend/retract, and a touch-type anti-collision device at the front end. For on-site use, it is recommended to confirm the following first:

  • After the front end advances into the trailer, can personnel still clearly observe the clearance between the front end and the trailer wall and cargo?
  • Will the extension and retraction path encounter the door frame, columns, guardrails, or other equipment?
  • If personnel are needed to assist with sorting at the front section, a standing operation platform can be selected according to site conditions.
  • If the location needs to be adjusted frequently, non-powered casters can be selected according to site conditions, but floor flatness and the moving path still need to be confirmed.
  • If the trailer height changes frequently, hydraulic lifting can be selected according to site conditions; 'unlimited cargo box height' only means the applicable range is broad, and the specific front-end height match still needs to be confirmed according to the final model or engineering requirements.

For maintenance, warehouse supervisors usually care about three things first:

  • Belt and joints: cargo corners, drum bottoms, and the edges of wrapped goods cause relatively direct wear on the belt, so regular inspection is required.
  • Front-end anti-collision: the front-end touch-type anti-collision device must remain effective to avoid hard collisions when extending into the trailer.
  • Electrical control and lighting: at night or when the trailer interior is poorly lit, the viewing conditions at the front end affect operating safety, so the lighting setup and the operator's line of sight need to be confirmed together.

Common Questions

Is it suitable for loading and unloading trucks within 6 meters?
It is suitable for the common use range of this model group. In addition to vehicle length, you also need to confirm the vehicle docking position, the actual distance from the doorway to the trailer, and how deep the unit needs to extend into the trailer.

Is it suitable for drum and bagged goods?
It is suitable for metal drums, plastic drums, bagged goods, wrapped goods, cartons, and other cargo, with a single item weight of no more than 50 kg. The contact surface at the bottom of the drum, the softness or collapse of bagged goods, and the condition of the end face of wrapped goods all affect passing stability; on-site confirmation is required based on samples or commonly used packaging dimensions.

Which width parameters need to be confirmed?
The common effective width is 600/800 mm. When the cargo shape is wider, or when side-by-side conveying or more space for manual cargo handling is required, the width should be confirmed based on the commonly used packaging dimensions; if guide edges, side guards, or a special front-end structure are involved, this parameter needs to be confirmed according to the final model or engineering requirements.

What on-site information should be provided before purchasing?
At minimum, provide the vehicle length, the distance from the loading and unloading point to the vehicle, the length required to extend into the trailer, the common cargo dimensions and single-item weight, whether the front and rear sections connect to other conveying equipment, and whether lifting or movement is required on site.

Confirmation before purchasing

Before sending an inquiry or planning a layout, it is recommended to provide the following information all at once for faster communication:

  • Common vehicle lengths, and whether the main use is for trucks 6 meters and under.
  • The distance from the loading and unloading point to the target drop-off point inside the trailer.
  • The length required to extend into the trailer; if both 'front-end length entering the trailer' and 'overall extension length' are used on site, this parameter needs to be confirmed according to the final model or engineering requirements.
  • Cargo types: cartons, bagged goods, wrapped goods, metal drums, plastic drums; and provide the single-item weight, with each item not exceeding 50 kg.
  • Common cargo length, width, and height, to confirm whether an effective width of 600 mm or 800 mm is more suitable.
  • Measure the available length at the site when retracted, and confirm the applicable range within the base length of 3–7 meters.
  • Measure the available space at the site when fully extended, and confirm the applicable range within the fully extended length of 5–13 meters.
  • How the front and rear sections connect: manual transfer, direct loading onto the truck, or connection to other conveying equipment inside the warehouse.
  • Whether options such as supports, standing operation platforms, non-powered casters, ramp sections, and hydraulic lifting are needed.
  • If the equipment needs to go directly through a doorway, into an elevator, or be turned and moved after delivery, provide the aisle dimensions as well. The packed length is about 3000–7000 mm and the packed height is about 750 mm; the actual delivery dimensions must be confirmed according to the final model.
